Our New Home

Finally.... a new post! :) We have made it to Atlanta and started making it our home.
We love our house and love our neighborhood!
Decatur, Georgia is very family friendly and so cute. It has about 30 family
owned restaurants and little shops. It really has been the best part of living here.
The old saying is true "that sweet southern hospitality." Everyone is so nice
and friendly everywhere you go.
We have great neighbors and a large fenced in back yard for Smalls.
Smalls has had the hardest time with the move but seems to be getting better.
Sofia and I have already been back to Indiana to visit family for 2 weeks and to meet
Sofia's newest cousin, Cameron Levi.

Andre is working like crazy here. Whoever said that intern year of residency is
the hardest, obviously did not do a fellowship!
This year will be our most challenging year as a family but the good news
is that it only last for 1 year.

Sofia and I have joined a "mommy's" group and have met some great people.
We have been to a lot of parks and restaurants here in Atlanta.
Then on Andre's day off we get to show him all of the great things we have discovered.

This is one of the splash parks that is about 10 minutes away from our house.
It has some water fountains and a cute little playground next to it.

This is our new home. It is a 2 bedroom - 2 bathroom house.
Andre has learned to do yard work and Smalls has discovered the world of having
a huge back yard to play in. I will post more pictures of the house soon. We are finally
all unpacked. Yay! :)

This is the playground that is next to the splash park. Sofia loved this swing!

Sofia's crib in her new room!

Sofia was such a great traveler! This is her on the move down to Atlanta.
She was all smiles the entire way. No fussing from the back seat! :)

Sofia, mom and I were the lucky ones with this view for 2 days straight.
All the boys were in the moving truck.
Everything made it to Atlanta with no problems.... thanks to the great
packing crew we had!

Sofia loved the empty boxes! Why do we spend our money on toys
that she will not play with?

Thank you for all of your prayers and phone calls.

Saying Goodbye to Friends

We enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors with our friends this past Sunday!
We had a little going away cookout at a nearby park and had a wonderful time.
We will miss all of you so much!

Congratulations my love....

Andre is finishing up another huge step in his training. Residency ends for him on June 22.... the day before his 29th birthday! I couldn't be more proud of him and his achievements.

It's exciting for this stage to be finished but also sad that we have to leave all of our awesome friends that have walked with us for the past 3 years. They have blessed our lives and we will always keep close to them all! We love them and wish them the best!

Sofia's 1st Hike ~

So we went on our first family hike in Evergreen and Sofia and Smalls had the time of their lives! Sofia was checking out everything and she wanted to touch everything. We hiked for about 2 hours and enjoyed watching Sofia discover the world.

put it to use

Okay, so I never blog and I am really bad about updating our blog. But today I have decided that I am going to start using our blog. I have to admit right now that this "putting it to use" idea has come about because I was on Facebook yesterday and my cousin's wife (Nicole Tow) posted a picture of herself.... she has lost 106 pounds in about 1 year. Congrats to her! So, this is my new addiction..... reading her blog. I have started from day 1 and I'm trying to catch up! I am so inspired by her!

We are getting ready to start a new journey in our lives, as a family, and I am going to start getting healthy and blog! I have 25 pounds to lose and I am going to do it and I have lots of friends and family and I should keep them updated on our lives!

But first.... I must tell you a funny story about my husband.
Two years ago around Christmas time, my father-in-law and his family came out here to Denver to visit. While picking up some food at Sam's Club, to take out to the mountains, my darling husband found a fleece that he really wanted. So, of coarse, his father purchased it for him. Andre wore this fleece almost everyday! It became his "baby." About 8 months ago Andre left his new "love" at work (University Hospital). When he realized that he had forgotten it, he panicked! Unfortunately when he returned to the hospital, it was gone..... no where to be found.

Last night my lovely husband came home from work around 7:30pm, sat on the living room floor with his book bag and proceeded to tell me that he had found something at work that day. He then pulls out a BLACK fleece from his bag..... keep in mind that the fleece he had lost was BROWN. I ask, "Did you buy a new fleece?" He replies "no, but I found this one at work and I thought since I lost mine there that it would be okay to just take this one." ARE YOU KIDDING ME my lovely husband?

He was not happy with my response but has decided that it would be best to take it back and hope that the rightful owner is reunited with their loved fleece! I love my husband. He is still a little boy.

Just a little note for today! Hope you enjoy and the next time you see him, please ask about the fleece! :)
