One Year Anniversary

So as my wonderful sister and brother-in-law congratulated us on NOT writing on our blog for 1 year... I love both of you also!! :) Yes, it has been one year and there has been so much going on in our lives here in Denver.

Andre just started his second year of residency on July 1 and he has really been enjoying it.  He is in charge now... and loving every minute of it.  He is at the Veterans Hospital for this month and he has 2 interns and 2 medical students under him.  He just received his first review from his attending and she said that he is doing a great job teaching and leading.  He just finished taking "step 3," which is a huge test.  It was a 2 day, 8 hours per day behind a computer, test and he is very glad it is over.  He was given a bike by his attending at the clinic that he works at on Wednesday afternoons and he is loving it.  He has been going out to the mountains to ride every day he is off work.  He just turned 27 years old on June 23 and he looks/acts like he is 16! :)  He just got a new X-box for his birthday because his old one died.  He has been playing any extra minute he has.

I am graduating from Cosmetology school on July 21!  YEAH!  I have a job lined up at a salon and spa called "Zuri."  If you would like you can check out the website : www.zurisalonspa.com.  I will start working the second week of August as a stylist!  The owners Peter and Kathy (husband and wife) are great people.  It is about 3 miles away from us and I am so excited.  I have been getting together with 3 other wives of residence here, about once a month, for dinner and it has been nice talking with other wives who understand what you are going through.

Andre and I are still playing on the softball team with his co-workers and we are having a blast.  We are not the best but we always have fun.  We are having so much fun with Smalls.  He is the best investment ever.  He is very protective and he is always ready to run... anywhere!

Mom and dad just came out to visit at the end of June and we had a great time.  We went hiking, biking (dad and Andre), shopping and to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park.  We so enjoyed them being here.  Dad met smalls for the first time and smalls loved him because he finally had someone to play with all the time.

Debbie and Randy are coming out to visit in a week and Andre is going to have a day off so Randy and him will be playing golf that day.  We are so excited for them to come stay with us!

Raendra, Brian and Clayton are also coming out to visit at the end of July and I can not wait to see that precious boy!  I am excited to see Raendra and Brian also but being an aunt is the best thing ever!  Especially when your nephews name is Clayton and the cutest thing ever!

Andre's brother (Rafael) just graduated from high school and Andre went home for his ceremony.  We are so proud of him and so excited for what the future holds for him.

We have found a home church that we have been going to for 9 months.  It is called Pathways and we have made some great friends there.

We are both planning on getting ski passes again this winter so please come visit and you can go skiing with us!  I go very slow and safely and Andre is like a monster.  He has no thought in his mind that he could possibly be very very hurt if for some reason he hit a tree or had a bad fall.  He reminds me of uncle Mike when it comes to your "fear for life."  They have no concept.  So Andre's dad was so kind to purchase a helmet for him.

We miss all of you so much!  We keep going day to day.  God has been so good to us here in Denver.  We would love to have all of you out here so please anytime come visit us!  The flights are usually pretty cheap or you can drive, but if you do, then you have to stay for 2 weeks or it is not worth the trip.  We think about all of you often and we hope that everything is going good for all of you!

We love you!

Roxanne and Andre
